Review: Schweppes Dark Ginger Ale

I find that new soda flavours don’t come around as often as new chocolate or chips, so when I saw this at the local grocery store, I had to try it! This is Schweppes new Dark Ginger Ale, which is a dark golden ginger ale compared to the typical regular dry ginger ale like Schweppes or Canadian Dry.

I was very excited about tasting this since I do enjoy ginger ale and 9 times out of 10 when I am buying a pop it will be ginger ale. I grew up on Sussex Golden Ginger Ale, which sets the benchmark of what a ginger ale should be to me. After having my first drink I felt it was tasty. Now if you’re familiar with Sussex Gold it may be because your parents gave it to you when you felt ill and somehow it always cured what was ailing ya’. This however similar golden ale taste, was milder than the familiar Sussex flavour. I thought Schweppes did a nice job and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys ginger ale!

I love the new dark gingerale…it’s very much like ginger beer with a sharp, refreshing ginger bite.

That’s sounds great Jane! Hopefully I can get my hands on some here in New Brunswick.
