Review: McDonald’s Turtle Sundae

McDonald’s has all their holiday treats out for the season. Most are just rehashed from last year such as the ginger cookies. There was something that caught my eye though, the new Turtle sundae.  This is a normal hot fudge sundae with small little chocolate covered caramels shape as turtles on top, with pecans on the side.

I wish I would have taken a side view photo but since I didn’t, I’ll tell you it had hot fudge on the bottom, ice cream then more hot fudge on top with the ‘turtle’ pieces. I found they gave you a solid of amount of toppings and the pecans instead of peanuts is a nice premium touch that helps give you that Turtles feeling.

This was very good! I guess my only complaint was when I got to the bottom of the sundae there was no more ice cream left and I just had to have a spoon full or two of hot fudge. [Editor’s note:  Tough times!]

I would definitely get this again and recommend it if you are looking for a cool treat in this holiday season. I give this a solid 8.5/10

There is no such thing as too much hot fudge in my opinion. I can’t find this sundae anywhere. I went to one McD’s and they told me it was “discontinued” but they still had the picture on their me board. Another location didn’t have it at all.

Haha agreed Christina. I will never complain about too much fudge or too much caramel. That is the good stuff.

Sounds awfully shady that they are claiming it is discontinued, especially when it still on their signage. I just checked the website, and they have amended their holiday warmers picture and its doesn’t show the sundae anymore. Maybe it really is gone?!? That would be terrible, as I haven’t gotten a chance to try it yet either.

the turtle sundae was not great at all. the turtle topping was waxy not chocolatey nor caramel. I literally needed to google the turtle sundae because I thought the server gave my husband and I the wrong order, SHE DID NOT give us the pecan topping. The sundae lacked in hot fudge and for sure should have had caramel sauce and should not have left the window without the nuts ! Indulgance
